MCP University Panel Discussion: The NIBRS Transition and its Effect on Law Enforcement Agencies
In January, the FBI will stop accepting Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) summary data to develop crime statistics. Instead, the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Division will solely accept incident-based report data following the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) program’s requirements. What does this transition mean for law-enforcement agencies and what steps can they take to prepare?
During this panel discussion, representatives from criminal-justice and law-enforcement organizations around the country, along with MCP subject-matter experts, will discuss the benefits of the transition to NIBRS and share their insights and perspectives on overcoming the challenges this transition presents for law enforcement.
Panelists include:
Maria Cardiellos, IJIS Institute
Diana Poor, Houston Police Department
Josh Kembel, Pennsylvania State Police
Brad Zoladz, Former FBI UCR/NIBRS Program Trainer
Bob Scott, Mission Critical Partners
Jim Pingel, Mission Critical Partners
